FAQ

  • There is a non-refundable booking retainer required to confirm services. This amount is deducted from the total balance and is not an additional cost.

  • First, head over to the Inquiry Form, submit the form, and I will respond ASAP! Guaranteed within 24 hours. If availability allows, you will receive a link to a secure payment portal, where the retainer fee can be paid and service contract can be e-signed. This final step confirms your booking.

  • Just a little space for me! My station is about 6ft long x 4ft wide, and I stand while painting. I arrive 10-15 minutes before the event start time for setup, and in most cases I will bring everything needed, including a table and chair.

The main request is protection from the outside elements such as direct sunlight or rain. This is for the safety of the children as well as artist. If an event is high-volume, we may request an assistant to help manage the line.

  • All products we use are cosmetic grade and should be removed using gentle cleansers, like makeup removers or non-comedogenic facial oil.

    Face Paint:

Work a small amount of soap/cleanser into the skin

Add a little water to generate a nice lather

Gently wipe the face with a damp rag or paper towel.

    Little tip!

Darker colors may leave a slight stain, but a little baby oil or makeup remover will wipe it away! Repeat if necessary.

    Waterproof Face Paint:

Apply a gentle makeup remover or baby oil directly over the design, and let it soak in for a couple of minutes to help break down the face paint. Then gently wipe away with a cloth.

  • All products are professional-grade and therefore hypoallergenic, FDA compliant, and formulated for use on the skin. The staple paint brands in my kit are Superstar, Diamond FX, Kraze FX, and Fusion. Neon colors are currently being tested for approval by the FDA, but no known reactions have occurred to date. Additionally, all glitters and powders are cosmetic grade.

  • If a child has a history of sensitivities/allergies it is the client's responsibility to notify the artist immediately so the artist can perform a small patch test on the wrist to test reactivity.

Professional grade paints are anti-microbial and are not a welcome host to bacteria, fungi, or mold. All equipment is sanitized and cleaned between each event. Artists will not apply paint to anyone appearing sick, or any areas with open wounds, eczema, or sunburn.

  • Ages 2 and older can be safely painted, but I will not paint children who are scared or crying. I will always offer to paint a simple design on my hand first, then ask the child for permission to paint on their arm. If this step goes well, I then ask to paint their face. If the child is not ready for face painting then I will offer them a sticker and thank them for being brave. We can always try again next time. My primary concern is ensuring your child’s safety— physically and emotionally.

  • I typically do not charge a travel fee unless the event is further than 40 miles from me. If your party is 40 miles from the Pearland, Texas area then I typically charge a $25-50 travel fee dependent on mileage. I do waive travel fees for bookings of 3+ hours within a reasonable distance not requiring an overnight stay. I am open to traveling across Texas and bordering states for fairs, festivals, and high-volume celebrations. Email me at bugsfacepaint@gmail.com for special requests.

  • I work with several area nonprofits, charities, and fundraising drives throughout the year. Weekends are prime and I limit the number of these events as I am not only donating my materials and services, but blocking out a work day for them. I do this for a living and while I admire the efforts of so many worthy organizations, I have to moderate how much I give.

I am more than happy to speak with you about your organization and try to work with your budget. Quite often, a local business is happy to sponsor a face painter as in exchange for advertising.
